Liver protective effects of green tea

In green tea found components that have a protective effect on the liver, according to South Korean hepatologists.

Effects of the ancient drink were examined in laboratory rats developed progressive liver disease. Previously, several studies have shown that lipid peroxidation stimulates collagen production in fibroblasts and liver cells, and play a special role in the development of fibrosis. In the new study found that green tea has gepatozaschitnym action against fibrosis by preventing the structural changes in the tissues of the body and excessive production of collagen.

Protective effects of tea have been confirmed both by histology of the liver, as well as the quantitative measurement of marker accumulation of collagen in the liver - liver hydroxyproline. Reduction of collagen was detected in activated cells, called the HSC-T6 with identified positive properties of green tea. Gastroenterologists Science and Technology College of Korea University suggest that components of tea safely and effectively prevent liver fibrosis by protecting the cell body and reducing there accumulation of collagen fibers.
