Parents often a misconception about how their child is physically active, say researchers from the British Heart Foundation.
The researchers conducted a study during which found that 71% of parents believe their children are sufficiently physically active, but only 10% of children have confirmed that doing the recommended number of exercises. Experts believe that parents should remove the "rose-colored glasses and really look at the problem, as reduced physical activity leads to obesity.
Representatives of the National Forum on Obesity encourages local councils to increase the quality and range of possible sports services for children. A survey of 1,000 British parents with children aged from eight to fifteen years, scientists have found that over the past 10 years, children do not become physically active.
This situation leads to obesity and at the same time a number of serious diseases, experts say. Need to revise the program of schools and local activities related to sports, to improve the health of children and the nation as a whole, the researchers stressed. A similar situation in other countries of Europe and the world, writes the BBC.
