Genes to blame for hair going grey, not stress

Genes women play a key role in the appearance of gray hair, despite the influence of factors as lifestyle, diet and stress, say experts.

The researchers studied more than 200 identical (monozygotic) and fraternal (dizygotic) twins females aged 59 to 80 years. The experts tried to find out what impact diet, stress and loss of genes for hair color. It was established that between fraternal were some differences, but identical twins was very small difference.

We took into account all risk factors, but heredity was a key factor in the appearance of gray matter. All other factors such as stress and diet, may have an impact, but it is statistically insignificant, according to specialists. The study was published in the journal PloS One.

Also, experts have found out that thinning hair at the crown associated with the environment and way of life of women, rather than heredity, writes the BBC.
