Flaxseed oil will help reduce the risk of osteoporosis in diabetics

Adding linseed oil to the diet reduces the risk of osteoporosis in women with diagnosed diabetes, believe the Egyptian doctors of the National Research Center in Cairo.

Scientists studied the impact of diabetes on bone health and to evaluate the effect of consumption of linseed oil laboratory rats. Two months later, biologists have collected observations in experimental animal tests and measured serum is similar to the insulin-like growth factor 1 or IGF-1, as well as the presence of the protein osteocalcin, bone shaping and supporting their mineralization.

It was established that the rodent-diabetics, which added to the diet of linseed oil, these two compounds are held in higher concentrations. It was said that due to the components of linseed oil, in the diabetic group, the experimental rats increased levels and deoxypyridinoline - a substance that is normally present in healthy bones.

According to scientists, female diabetes often leads to osteoporosis. Nevertheless, the risk of additional disease can be reduced by using the healing power of linseed oil, because its composition beneficial effect on bone mineral density and reduces the activity of the markers, developing osteoporosis. Podiatrists believe that such a dietary supplement is useful for women with diabetes as a means of damage to bones and joints. The presence of so-called fatty acids n-3 in the oil plays an important role in protection of bone tissue that is susceptible to degradation in diabetes, explained therapists.
