Daily consumption of small amounts of dark chocolate protects the skin from negative effects of sunlight, which leads to skin aging and the appearance of wrinkles, found British scientists who conducted the study for a private dermatology clinics European Dermatology London.
The study showed that only a couple of slices of chocolate every day helps to prevent occurrence of wrinkles caused by an ultraviolet sun rays, and also reduces the likelihood of skin cancer. However, it works exclusively with chocolate, containing very large number of flavanol, an antioxidant contained in cocoa beans.
In the study volunteers, eating chocolate with lots of flavanol, could make more of an impact UV light than those who ate chocolate with a smaller number of flavanol. The only problem is that in the usual chocolate is not such a high level of flavanol that effect was achieved.
It should be noted that the farther, the more positive qualities, scientists have discovered chocolate. For example, the team concluded that daily intake of dark chocolate high in cocoa may help to combat chronic fatigue syndrome.
But researchers from the University of Oxford (United Kingdom) found that eating chocolate may improve memory. The Italian researchers also found that regular consumption of dark chocolate helps reduce inflammation, closely associated with heart disease and blood vessels.
